Everybody wants to know what the secret to success is, but is it really a secret?
I mean the rules to success are pretty simple if you ask me. Work hard, stay focused, and never give up. That is as generic as it gets, but the problem is that some people skip the details. There are other steps in-between those three steps that are necessary to become successful.
There is also a mindset that is necessary to become successful.
So, here is one of the steps you have to follow in order to be successful.
You have to focus on your goals and progress and humble yourself for the journey.
If you want to be successful you have to be willing to commit to success 110%, but if you let your ego get in the way it will prevent you from doing whatever it takes to be successful.
For example, if you wanted to become a successful singer from scratch you would have to place your ego aside and perform at unprofessional events and pretty much sing in any venue you can.
If you let your ego get in the way you will be too prideful to sing for free or sing at unprofessional events, but if you really want to be successful you have to look at every opportunity as moving another step closer to success.
In the beginning stages of your journey to success, you will have to make some decisions that may not feel comfortable or beneficial at first, but you will soon learn that all your efforts will accumulate and you will build momentum. Once you get the momentum going it's almost impossible to stop.
You will begin to enjoy the process more and your mind and body will adapt to your new lifestyle. Your comfort zone will expand and you will notice little successes along the way.
The only way to experience momentum and a gradual mindset change is to let go of your ego. Look at things from the outside looking in. If you knew how to design a robot that could become successful in everything it does, what traits and disciplines would it have.
I'm guessing you would design a robot that will do whatever it takes to be successful. I'm not saying you have to be a robot because that can be a very unhealthy way of doing things, but I'm just saying you need to get rid of the excuses and stop letting your ego prevent you from doing whatever it takes to be successful.
When you want to be successful from scratch, you have to humble yourself. Accept the fact that you're not "The Big Dog" yet and just start small and work your way up.
You have to start off by doing the dirty work that nobody wants to do and eventually you will be able to outsource your work or figure out a way to make your efforts more passive.
