Countless highs and lows have led me to really dig deep and attempt to understand what makes some people happier and more successful than others. Although I’m still a student in this game called life, I’ve come to understand a lot about what it takes to be successful. Much of what I’ve learned may seem counterintuitive to many people, but perhaps that’s why only a select few actually live their dreams. It makes you wonder. Is everything we’ve been taught growing up completely backwards? I mean, if we really knew the keys to success in life, then we’d all be much better off. The following tips will help you advance your life by leaps and bounds. They have acted as my core belief systems over the last couple years, and I’ve seen incredible progress as a result of adopting them. Hopefully you experience similar growth.
Give more and know that you will be reciprocated
I believe in the law of reciprocity. You reap what you sow. You get what you give. Many people stress themselves out by always trying to find ways to get more and more, but their attitude is actually preventing them from getting what they want, and so their stress continues to increase. I always remind myself that a giving attitude will get me much farther in life, because the universe always returns to you what you give out. Often times, you actually get back far more than you expect. There’s no way of knowing exactly when it will come, but have faith and just know that you will be reimbursed for your efforts.
Maintain the attitude of a student
Progress stops the minute you think you know it all. Even if you are an expert in your field, there is always much more to learn. Maintaining the attitude of a student will ensure that you continue to grow and improve yourself. I’m not just speaking of learning through books and other educational material. I’m talking about being a student of life. Look at every single experience in your life as an opportunity to learn, especially the ‘bad’ experiences. I believe that we are all creators of our own realities, and so the seemingly bad experiences have the most to teach us because they are an indication that there is some type of flaw in our thinking. In my experience, suffering has always been the best teacher.
Keep your body and mind in pristine condition
Healthy food, exercise, and stress-reducing activities are essential for getting more out of life and achieving more success. I’ve experienced sickness, and I’ve experienced extreme health, and let me tell you the difference is like night and day. Most people have no idea what extreme health feels like, and so they think that it’s normal to have low energy and mental fog. I encourage you to bring your body and mind into a state of extraordinary health just once, because you will never want to go back to your old ways once you experience the new you.
Make your living space your sanctuary
I tend to think that we all absorb the things from our environment unconsciously. Being around negative people, watching hours of television, or living in an unorganized space has a negative impact on us whether we want it to or not. Negativity is around us all the time in varying forms, so it’s essential that you make your own living space a place where you can regenerate and get inspired. A clean and organized environment will increase your productivity, creativity, and your overall mood.
Consistently face your fears
We all know that success requires relatively high levels of self-confidence. The best way to increase your confidence quickly is to consistently step outside of your comfort zone. You need to gain experiential knowledge in order to feel confident about yourself and your abilities. The more you face your fears, the more confident you will become in your ability to face your fears yet again. You slowly desensitize yourself to the fear of failure or rejection, and you eventually reach a point where nothing can stop you from going after what you want. At this level, your success is essentially guaranteed.
Live in the moment as much as possible
In the moment is when the magic happens. The mind is a great tool for planning and motivating yourself, but productivity is maximized when the mind falls silent and comes into the present moment. This is when your creative genius comes out of hiding. In the moment when your mind is silent, you make a connection with your source–universal energy, God, or whatever you want to call it–and the absence of resistance allows you to do your very best work. It is our racing minds that prevent us from getting stuff done. Learn how to slow down your thoughts and get into the flow of the moment, and your productivity will go through the roof. Deep breathing, classical music, and meditation are all great tools for getting into the now.
Be loving towards all of life
In a world of vibrational frequency, it is essential that we choose thoughts and feelings that vibrate at a higher rate. Emotions with a higher vibrational frequency are powerful creative forces that will help you to attract more of the things that you desire. Love happens to be an emotion with an extremely high vibrational frequency. This has actually been measured in scientific studies. Emotions have the power to change our physical world, as shown in Emoto’s water experiment. The evidence continues to show the power of positive emotions. When you are loving towards all of life, the entire world benefits and you attract abundance into your own life. Like attracts like. Learn to love fully, and all of life will love you back.
